Brandon Cronenberg’s second film, Possessor, is a visually sleek, psychologically unnerving portrait of a murderous enterprise that stars Andrea Riseborough and Christopher Abbott. It’s a worthy inheritor of the elder Cronenberg’s sensibilities and eXistenZ alumni Jennifer Jason Leigh makes a return to form here. It’s not for the weak of heart but assuredly for the cautiously curious. “Long live the new flesh,” for sure.
